-- What book are you currently reading?
Phantom Prey by John Sandford
-- How far in are you?
Almost finished (on page 355 of 437). I'll be moving on to another Sandford book after that.
-- What's it about?
It's the 13th book in the Lucas Davenport series. In this particular one, a young woman, who is currently playing at being a Goth but isn't really into the scene, disappears. Some specs of her blood are found at her mother's house and foul play is suspected in the daughter's disappearance. More murders follow and Lucas starts trying to track the mysterious fairy Goth, who always appears to be there but disappears before anyone can identify her. Something strange is going on - but what is it?
-- Are you enjoying it?
I'm really having a good time with this one. But then I usually do with books by Sandford. John Sandford is the pen name of John Camp, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. All of his books are well-written and well-researched. The characters feel real. Or maybe it's just that I identify a bit with the main character, Lucas Davenport. Even though he's a man and I'm not. If you like a good solid thriller with believable characters, then I would recommend that you start with Rules Of Prey and in no time you'll be working your way all the way to number 13!
